It only describes f(A)/A, absent the multiplier c. It doesn't even provide the formula you cite, cf(A)/A.

> Other than that, you'd have to state your misunderstanding/disagreement more clearly.īut the post's first formula defines f(A). > cf(A)/A (no DIS) is not the same with cf(A) (DIS). > What do you mean by "base formula"? If you are referring to the without-DIS formula, than this is where the misunderstanding could be (and the only thing I could think of). LordAsrielAuB, I believe I stated my issue clearly enough. If you want to solve this problem, you need to determine what function f(a) is and examine how it's shape changes when multiplied by constants. Putting a c in so it is c * f(a) simply doesn't have a single, inherent result. It certainly doesn't invert the result as some absolute rule. Multiplying that function by a constant doesn't automatically change that result. The post discusses how because the rate of gaining levels decreases with area, resetting quickly is optimal without DIS. I don't see how this follows from anything which comes before it. At that case, it is irrelevant when the reset gets done. That means that with ANY level of DIS, one should reset as late as possible (still instakilling though), except if they've hit the sader level limit. > This increases with A, but dont forget that f(A) actually caps at a certain point, and the rate becomes just a constant. Which reads the same as the base formula multiplied by some factor. Then for the final result of this post, it gives three things as equal: I struggle to understand the logic of this post. I'd like to hear your opinions AND practical feelings on this Of course, there are other less math things to consider like getting idols as early as possible to make future runs stronger. At that case, it is irrelevant when the reset gets done**. **That means that with ANY level of DIS, one should reset as late as possible (still instakilling though), except if they've hit the sader level limit. *This increases with A, but dont forget that f(A) actually caps at a certain point, and the rate becomes just a constant. If my assumption is correct, f(A)/A gets lower as A increases, leading to a result that **without DIS, one should reset ASAP, and not when they stop instakilling!**. Without DIS, the rate of idol farming should be f(A)/(At). I also *think* that the deeper you do, the less quickly you gain levels (remember, even if dps is still large (enough to instakill)).So f(A) is slower than a line of type cA.

This is obviously a monotonically increasing function, because more areas yield more gold and thus more levels. I'm gonna make a simplifying assumption: pretend we have infinite dps but still need the gold to get the levels.
